Support our Work

As the year comes to a close, we invite you to reflect on the people, places and efforts that quietly sustain our communities.

Our Positive Impact

This year, we selected Ellis Allen, a recent graduate in Environmental Science from the University of Chicago, as our inaugural Fellow. Over the course of this Fellowship, Ellis contributes to advancing, organizing, and implementing creek restoration projects like the Conn Creek Land Lab.

Conn Creek Land Lab

At the beginning of 2025, we launched the Conn Creek Land Lab, our first pilot project, to demonstrate the effectiveness of low tech, high impact restoration strategies. The Land Lab serves as a place for learning by doing — combining field work, monitoring, and education to show what is possible when restoration is practical, accessible, and grounded in place.

To support and grow this effort, we established the Abuelitos Ecosystem Restoration Fellowship, designed to train and support emerging leaders in watershed restoration while advancing real projects on the ground.
