Our Mission
We implement transformative land management practices to create vibrant, productive, and self-regenerating environments.
What We Do
It All Starts with Water
Abuelitos Foundation revives ecosystems on farms and working lands by starting where life begins: with water.
We design and implement land management practices that increase rainwater infiltration, rehydrate soils, and create the conditions for life to take root and flourish.
Hydrated soils are the foundation of resilient, self-sustaining ecosystems—living networks of plants, animals, mycelium, and people that regenerate over time. Once the land is primed for vitality, we stabilize it with vegetation, support biodiversity, and nurture thriving habitats—making working lands more productive, enduring, and alive for generations to come.
How We Do It
01
Land Labs
Abuelitos harnesses the collective potential of communities by illustrating our roles in creating a better future. We ensure all voices are heard to achieve maximum benefit for everyone in the community.
Together with community partners, we create Land Labs - pilot projects to develop and demonstrate strategies, and showcase and share results with other working land stewards.
02
Stewardship Councils
We build leadership within our farmland communities to drive progress through site-specific regional Stewardship Councils.
It is only through collaborative collectives that we will create enduring benefits for our regional climate, and beyond. We build the world we imagine. Our future is ours to create.
03
Education and Outreach
Our outreach and education programs exponentially expand the transformative power of our adaptive practices.
Whether through workshops, partnerships or published resources, we strive to make sustainable practices readily available and actionable for all.
